7 FREE School Holiday Activities on the Sunshine Coast

The school holidays can be a long time to keep the kids busy, active & entertained. Lots of activities can definitely add up! To help you out we have compiled a list of a activities that are a heap of fun & bonus…. they are free!

1. Go on a bush walk!
With so much time spent inside during term, the school holidays are a great time to get outside & enjoy the outdoors. Some great ones to choose from are:
A. Mapleton Falls National Park
B. Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve
C. Bribie Island Recreation Area

2. Head to the beach!
We are so blessed to have so many beautiful beaches at our fingertips. Go and slip on a shirt, slop an sunscreen, slap on a hat & head to one of these gems!
A. Sunshine Beach
B. Peregian Beach
C. Noosa main beach
D. Mooloolaba beach
E. Kings Beach

3. Pack a picnic!
Why not pack a delicious picnic (you could even get the kids to do some baking in preparation) & head to somewhere like Wappa Falls! It’s guaranteed to be a delicious & fun day out!

4. Conquer Mount Coolum!
Tighten those sneakers & head to Mount Coolum! This walk is great for kids too & has such beautiful views from the top! Don’t forget water!

5. Head to the markets!
Keen for some “window shopping” or creative inspiration at the local markets? We have some great ones to choose from!
A. Eumundi Markets: Wednesday + Saturday
B. Cotton Tree Markets: Sunday
C. Caloundra Street Fair: Sunday
D. Landsborough country markets: Saturday

6. Head to the Botanical Gardens!
Take a walk and check out some of the local native flora & fauna! Beautiful!

7. Love dogs?
Have a pup that needs just as much exercise as the kids? Pack up the family and head to one of these off-lead dog beaches to burn some serious energy!
Try: Stumers Creek (Coolum Beach), Currimundi or Northshore Beach (Twin Waters)
