The go to dance studio on the Sunshine Coast! For us, it’s all about the journey and not the outcome. We focus on a balance of recreational and competition streams to support all dancers and ensure their unique needs are met. Our team of dedicated and long-standing teachers are passionate about education and supported by a full-time administration team to ensure the best experience is delivered in every class.

We are a dance studio dedicated to helping busy parents find a healthy, creative and fun after school activity through movement, music and friends. At Dance Energy, we know that dance education is not all about the steps and technique. We create a culture of kindness and support for our students to grow and find their own passion and purpose in life. Our teachers are highly trained, passionate and knowledgeable with qualifications and top-level curriculum to back up their experience.
While we know that dance classes and programs play a huge role in what we do, it isn’t the only focus. From our Power Up mentor program that trains young teachers through to community outreach initiatives, we continue to break down barriers and educate young children on how to unleash their unique energy and potential into the world.
MEET CLAIRE O’SHEA
Owner & Principal
Born and raised on the Sunshine Coast, Claire began her dance journey at the age of three at a studio in Maroochydore, where she continued to learn for 17 years. She turned her passion and commitment for dance into a business founding Dance Energy Studios in 2013, which continues to grow and innovate every year.
SCHOLARSHIP WINNERs 2023
Each year at Dance Energy Studios we provide scholarships for many students for a range of different reasons. Throughout the year students are awarded scholarships for hard work & effort as well as special accomplishment. Our ‘Student of the Year’ scholarship winner is the largest award we give out at the studio each year & we are thrilled to provide this award to a student at our Caloundra & Maroochydore location who has shown outstanding dedication, improvement, drive & positivity. The recipient of the scholarship is entitled to any classes of their choice for free in the following year.

OLIVIA VROLIJKS
MAROOCHYDORE RECIPIENT
I started my dancing journey in 2012 at age 3. I first started dancing at Dance Dynamics, taught by Andrea Dalton. Which soon changed to Dance3D directed by Heidi O'heir and now known as Dance Energy Maroochydore. I have always worked my hardest to improve as a dancer and as a person. My improvement was recognised when I was awarded Most Improved Dancer in 2019. Then, in 2020, I was awarded the Hard Worker Award. In 2022, with Dance Energy, I was awarded Most Hard-working in the Jazz Genre.
With the continued effort and hard work in all my classes and performance teams in 2023, I am so grateful to have been awarded Maroochydore Student of the Year for the Sweet Dreams concert. It has truly been a dream to have reached a big personal goal of mine, surrounded by such amazing teachers, dance family, and younger students. I could truly never have done it without my DES family. I look forward to reaching many more goals within 2024 and the following years. -
ALEXANDRIA BROE
CALOUNDRA RECIPIENT
At the age of 4 I started showing an interest in dance by dancing whenever I could and mum enrolled me in two classes at Dance Energy Studios, I fell in love with dance and it became the highlight of my week going to my classes and seeing Miss Claire.
Year after year I started to enrol in more and more classes and really found my passion at Des. I realised I wanted to make a career in dance as it's such an amazing way to express myself, I enrolled in the power up program and learned how to teach dance and really became in love with the idea of being a dance teacher, so In 2022 I started my Cert IV in Dance Teaching and Management .In the 2023 Concert "Sweet Dreams" I was awarded Student of the Year. I couldn’t be more thankful to Dance Energy for giving me this award because it's such an honour and wonderful opportunity to grow in my dance career. I will always and forever think of dance energy as my family. I can’t wait to see what the future holds at Dance Energy.
